The UniGem is a secondary treatment system or polishing system
which has a unique retrofit design. The Unigem is installed
when you have effluent discharge problems with your existing
sewage treatment plant/ system and you need to achieve a
better discharge standard from your existing installation.
As shown below the UniGem unit features a compact twin
module system which consists of a primary biomass treatment
chamber/module is fed from your existing installation,
the treatment unit is sized to treat the effluent effectively
the treated effluent is then transferred into a final polishing
chamber with a unique micron filter and sludge return system.
The Unigem unit can be retrofitted to existing septic
tanks and some cesspits/cesspools that have sufficient
existing volume for sludge containment .The Unigem unit
can be connected onto the discharge pipe of your septic
or a connection may be able to be made from your cesspit
by your contractor to connect to the Unigem unit as shown.
This will give you a superior discharge standard which
can be designed to suit most discharge requirements from
the local water company or Environment Agency.
Please Note : It is always important to ask for the required
consent to discharge standard from your Environment Agency
before going ahead with any modification of existing plants
or tanks. Once this is established we can design a suitable
Unigem to the required effluent discharge standard which
can be retrofitted easily by a competant contractor.
However we would need
to establish the effectiveness and performance of your
existing treatment plant or septic tank before a Unigem
can be designed and installed. There is a limited chance
that your application may not be suitable for this type
of unit.
Please note also that if you are looking to upgrade an
existing septic tank or cesspool that mains power will
be required to the site to run the Unigem unit and installation
of the electrical system should be carried out by a qualified
electrician or tradesmen.
